More downtime? I hoped that it'd never come to this. Although the internet is flooded with FW media (a fact that I'm very well cognizant of), my plans to chronicle the hottest looks for this week were cut short. In sum, the A.S.A (african student association) group that I participate in asked me to M.C. an event, which (in more ways than one) proves to be a double edge sword: on the one hand, I gain credentials with my public speaking. Good right? Sure, but it also keeps me away from what I love: dipping into the foray of fashion. Boo! However, I take it with stride, muster up the fortitude to fight through the drollery of a boring week and make sure that I find time to do what I love (to clarify, I loved the opportunity to M.C., but hated it's timing) *Sigh* Ok, my rant is over. Let's get on with what Marc Jacobs put through last night right? kk :)
Although I couldn't make it to the show (the sooner, the better I might add) the live streaming provided on the website proved to be of inexhaustible worth. First off: the headgear was simply AMAZING (to each his own, for sure)! Oversized (correction - of considerable extent) top hats took precedence and joined in on a parade of overt yet balanced hues. Pastels, of an almost gaudy aspect, were put forth on loose, chunky knitwear, knee length skirts and square-toed footwear. To put it into perspective, imagine the cheekiness of Willy Wonka awash with themes and outerwear of Mary Poppins. Fun stuff! Yes, many of you may gawk at the costumed appearance of the models, but we must remember one thing: fashion exudes equal parts of form, function and fun <3
Didn't check out the show? I'll upload a few looks on my Pinterest soon (with a video following right after)
Have a great day!
