Something that I've always admired about well dressed men (with my dad being the very first of guys that instilled in me the sentiment of dandiness :]) is that ability to make your habiliments do the talking. The idea of taking the time to pay attention to details, eschewing that ho-hum routine of simply "putting on clothes", culminates that air of that "magnificent something" (quoting my dad here hahaha). Such is the case for the Burberry Prorsum 2012 show shot in Milan last Saturday (YouTube link here). To be quite frank, my fervor was piqued to the extent that I literally wanted to jump into the monitor and be front and center at that moment. WHAT A SHOW! I mean really, so many things were well put together and I saw many statement pieces that I may try to acquire when autumn comes to town again. From asymmetric cowl neck sweaters, sequined slim-fit pullovers, to the ever popular tailored smart-fit trousers, I can very well say that, at this moment at least, Burberry was my favorite show by far. What stole the show for me, though, was the exquisitely crafted range of umbrellas. I damn sure will be one of the very many who will try to nab a few before the hordes of "Burberry Blokes" make their claim (not to be confused with the "Marni Men" - a decidedly zealous bunch they are, by far). However, I'm not so sure about the oversized garments that were proffered towards the end. For those who may not know, my wardrobe consists of pieces that are meant for the shorter crowd (I'm between 5'4-5'5) and I tend to stay away from anything that makes me look like I borrowed clothes from my towering uncles. Blousing tops + shorter height = a walking diaster. 'nuff said...

With the world already embracing the new year, I have been taking the time to figure out what my new look for the Spring and Summer will consist of. Prada's show last year, filled with the spirit of golfing panache, has me warming up to the idea of pastels and an appreciation for slightly thicker soled loafers. Maybe not golf shoes outright, but perhaps those velvet slip-on loafers that Louboutin does (without the studs). I do envision, however, next year's shows will be punctuated with nuances of green (or something along the lines of). A dose of warm jade anyone? How about a dash of otter green to combat those endless waves of tangerine? I think I'll take a gander!  :)
Have a great day!
