Oversized wear - it doesn't ever seem to slow down does it ( :3) ? Last week, I gave much applause to Castiglioni and Jacobs for their amazing shows at PFW (which isn't to say that other designers weren't deserving of attention). Although I promised to have reviews for Elie Saab, Miu Miu and Celine, I'm breaking away from that for a teensy bit (it's forthcoming, so stay tuned <3). Today, I'll highlight an obviously prominent trend carrying over from last fall (encompassing all collections and types) : oversized wear. The Sartorialist is rife with very great examples of it (streetwear, interestingly enough) and while I would post a few pics of great runway looks, I'm finding it feverishly difficult in finding those that aren't too "costumey" and TTH (trying too hard). I'll let the cover photo for this post sate the appetites for all my photogs - I'll be off looking for examples and posting those later.

Let's be clear: unless you happen to fall into the bell curve of having awesome anatomical proportions, it's very easy to simply put on a garment much larger than what you're used to and hoping to pull this look off. The common element between what designers and sartorial enthusiasts alike share is being able to wear oversized garments that fit their proportions. Take a look at the cover photo for instance. What element is common between each look on these models? Yes, they all have on outerwear - but pay attention to the sleeve length. It exudes that essence of modernity, despite it being excessively wide (for some). While trivial to some, you should at least put the details into consideration, no matter how small. A few collections to check out for other great examples include Balenciaga, , Anteprima, ACNE, Dirk Bikkemberg, E. Tautz. Between this and those "Cardi-leggings" I saw a few weeks ago, I'd say that this trend is top brass <3

Have a great day! <3
