I'm back for another review! The FashionWeekNow channel on YouTube that I frequent (during my day to day) led me onto a few shows that slipped under my nose - Oscar de la Renta's resort collection happened to be one of those. While a few folks on Twitter are busy dissecting the remains of Erdem's resort show, I'll stick to reviewing and highlighting La Renta's craft. My fave looks are shown below (in no particular order, as per usual <3)
The show, as expected, was on the mark: relaxed (note: prominent) feminine detailing took the helm and went alongside tailored garments that spoke of rakish easiness rather than classical stiffness. The occasional folio and handbag made its way onto the runway, while gowns of diaphanous aspect set the pace for an air of unexpected elegance. For the "boho-broads" among us, this collection gave a (slight) nod in that direction by way of oversized bangles. Although aesthetically pleasing, I often wondered if the looks would have benefited better if the models wore 1 for each arm. In any case, a few ensembles in lace and semi-transparent garments were definitely on-trend elements to take note of as well. Ready for a dose of more floral dominance? Below is one such look that illustrates this nicely:
This very much reminds me of that s/s Jil Sander collection in 2011 (where I first got a taste of those boisterous floral prints). Fun stuff!
The selection of footwear, too, proved solid and was a defining element that kept the show cohesive. It's definitely a good refresher when you consider all the girls I see with nude pumps and structured jackets. While I like that look, its ultimately becoming way too hackneyed to keep its appeal. Considering how wildly refined these heels look, however, they may become the next mainstay and I'm almost certain that they'll find a home in the closets of many girls. Have a great day!

Sunglasses - Tom Ford "Magnus" series
Ah, Tom Ford strikes yet again in the field of awesome sunnies! I peeped a few of these at my local SunglassHut and while it may embarrass the wallets of my thrifty chicks, anyone else needing to invest in an unmatched pair of awesome shades should definitely follow up on it. Link provided here :)

| Here I am in another style of Tom Ford sunnies. I haven't found a pair yet that's disappointing :) |
As a matter of course, I had to try on a pair in the store right? While these in the photo aren't quite the same style, they still articulate that go-to summer cool that so many brands are after. Depending on how my financials are situated, I may go back to nab these :)

SUPERGLAMOROUS Babouche 1948 in Tangerine
By now, I'm sure that many of you may know that I'm obsessed with shoes (loafers and brogues are my top two faves <3). What would summer be without a good pop of color in your footwear? Filippo from TheThreeF (here) turned me on to SUPERGLAMOROUS and though I've yet to get my own pair, I'll still gawk at the ones I see on Instagram. These "BABOUCHE" types are too perfect for words, although I'll do my best. I mean really, what's not to love about this slip-on loafer? Supple leather upper, deerskin tassels and the finishing touch - an expressive (although not too glitzy) tangerine profile. I'll go a head and label this under the 'sex on your feet' category :)
Accessories
CELINE 'Cloudy Lagoon' cabas tote
You gals should rejoice: any tote from CELINE is top notch. Choosing this colorway was a no-brainer, since navy and white speak to us in a "nautical" way. Boating panache aside, rocking this tote in the warmer months will definitely turn heads. Whether you're pacing through the boardwalk or digging your toes in the sand, you'll definitely set the standard with it <3
Have a great day!
